My name is Steven Juarez and I am a Pre Speech-Language Pathology Major at the University of Texas at El Paso. Originally from Los Angeles, California, I moved here two years ago and completed my high school career at Montwood High School. I feel very fortunate to be living in El Paso, Texas. It is a nice place to live and to attend school. Even though I am quite certain that I will continue to pursue my current major, it is quite possible that I will adjust it to a psychology major. In either career path, however, my main goal is to be in a profession where I am best able to improve the lives of people and research new techniques and discover more ways to better my own life as well as the lives of others. I wish to improve my writing skills and to develop a strong scholastic foundation. It is impossible to ever learn everything one must know, but I will strive for that accomplishment nonetheless. There are different directions I could go on my journey to becoming an SLP, Speech-Language Pathologist. I am most interested in working in hospitals and clinics. It is probable that I will either miner in psychology since both fields are related. With a minor in psychology, I can develop the skills necessary to address situations that SLP is unable to. I would like to one day have my own private practice and be able to offer both SLP and counseling services.
